What a personal inbox costs a fashion store

Fit, fabric and sizing questions are constant in fashion, and answering them from a personal phone or a generic shared inbox means no one can see the order behind the question.

  • A shopper asks if a dress runs small, and the answer depends on someone remembering the item instead of checking real stock and variant data
  • A size-exchange request loses track of the original order number somewhere between a direct message and a spreadsheet
  • A return is promised a refund date nobody can actually confirm because no one has the order status open
  • A staff member's personal WhatsApp holds order photos and complaints no one else can see once they're offline

What the conversation carries

Catalog and order context attached to the thread, not held in someone's memory.

Catalog snapshot
Variant, price and stock synced live from Shopify, so a size or color question gets a real answer.
Order context
The customer's order history and status visible beside the conversation.
Exchange request
A size or color change logged against the original order, not a separate note.
Return ticket
A tracked ticket with a status the customer can ask about, while the refund itself happens in the store's platform.
Escalation
A question the agent can't answer from the catalog is handed to a staff member, flagged rather than guessed at.

From a product question to a closed ticket

The same path whether the shopper is asking about fit or asking for a return.

  1. Shopper asks a question

A product, fit or fabric question comes in over WhatsApp.

  2. Catalog is checked

The agent checks the live-synced variant, price and stock data before answering.

  3. Unknown stays unknown

If the catalog doesn't have the answer — a fit note not in the data, for instance — the question is escalated rather than guessed at.

  4. Exchange or return is logged

A size exchange or return becomes a tracked ticket tied to the original order.

  5. Status is visible

The customer can ask about the ticket status at any point; the refund or exchange itself completes on the store's platform.

What the customer sees

A fit question and a size exchange, in one thread with the order attached.

Illustrative example — nothing shown here is a real business, person or message.

What the team sees

Every product question, exchange and return with its order context beside it.

  • A live-synced catalog snapshot — variant, price and stock — beside every product question
  • Order history attached to the customer's conversation, not a separate lookup
  • A queue of open exchange and return tickets, each with a status and an owner
  • Escalated questions flagged for a staff member instead of answered with a guess

Who decides what ships

Morasel logs and tracks the request; the store decides and acts on it in its own platform.

  • An agent can log an exchange or return request; the exchange, refund or reshipment itself is a decision made and processed on the store's platform
  • A question outside the catalog data is escalated to a person, never guessed at
  • Ticket status is visible to the customer, but closing it is a staff action
  • The catalog snapshot for variant, price and stock is Shopify-specific; the conversation, order context and ticket workflow work the same on any platform

What this does not do

Morasel does not process the refund or ship a replacement itself. A return or exchange becomes a tracked ticket with order context, and the store completes the refund, exchange or reshipment in its own platform.

Give fashion questions and returns one home

Start free and answer fit questions from a live catalog, track exchanges against the original order, and give every return a status your customer can ask about.

Fashion store questions

Can the WhatsApp agent tell me if an item runs small or large?

Answers come from the synced catalog and any fit notes you've added; if it's not in the data, the question goes to a person rather than a guess.

How does a size exchange stay linked to my original order?

The exchange is logged against the order number, so it never gets separated from what was actually purchased.

Does WhatsApp process my refund?

No. A return becomes a tracked ticket, and the refund is completed on the store's own platform.

Can I ask about my return status without waiting for a callback?

Yes. You can ask about the ticket status in the same thread at any time, and staff can see where it stands immediately.

Does the live catalog snapshot work if my store isn't on Shopify?

The variant, price and stock sync is Shopify-specific. The shared inbox, order-context ticket and returns tracking work the same on any store platform.

How is this billed?

Through your Morasel subscription — Core $49, Pro $99, Max $199, Custom on request. WhatsApp usage is billed separately, per delivered message, from a prepaid wallet at the rates in our published rate card — based on Meta's official WhatsApp pricing by country and message type, plus a Morasel service fee.
