Send Shopify pickup and delivery messages with the right location every time

Ready-for-pickup, pickup-rescheduled, and out-for-local-delivery messages carry the exact address and hours from the Shopify location record — and a location Shopify reports as inactive never triggers a message.

What breaks without location-accurate pickup and delivery messages

Without pulling the fulfillment state and location record from Shopify, a pickup message goes out before an order is actually ready, the address quoted doesn't match the location a customer is driving to, and a message still reaches a customer for a location the store has closed.

  • A pickup notice sends before Shopify reports the order actually prepared, so the customer arrives to an empty counter
  • The address or hours in a message don't match the Shopify location record, sending a customer to the wrong door
  • A reschedule happens but the customer keeps the old pickup time because nothing updated the message
  • A location the store deactivated in Shopify still triggers pickup or delivery messages

What Morasel attaches to a pickup or delivery message

Every message is built from a specific fulfillment order and the Shopify location tied to it — not a static address typed once.

Fulfillment type
Pickup or local delivery, read from the fulfillment order's delivery method.
Location record
The Shopify location's name, address, and hours attached to that fulfillment order.
Ready state
Prepared for pickup or prepared for local delivery, from Shopify's fulfillment order line-item events.
Reschedule record
An updated pickup or delivery date, from Shopify's fulfillment order reschedule event.
Location active status
Whether the location is enabled in Shopify; an inactive location suppresses every pickup or delivery message tied to it.

What happens as a pickup or delivery order moves

The same sequence runs for pickup and local-delivery orders, tied to the location Shopify reports.

  1. Shopify reports a fulfillment order prepared

Line items are marked prepared for pickup or prepared for local delivery.

  2. The location's active status is checked

Morasel confirms the Shopify location tied to that order is active; an inactive location suppresses the send.

  3. The message sends with that location's details

Address and hours come from the Shopify location record — never typed in by hand.

  4. A reschedule replaces the earlier message

If Shopify reports a reschedule, the updated pickup or delivery date sends in the same thread.

  5. A change request hands off to the team

If the customer needs something the message can't resolve, the conversation routes to an agent.

What a pickup conversation looks like

A ready-for-pickup message with the Shopify location's address and hours, then a reschedule in the same thread.

What the team sees

Every pickup and delivery message is tied to a fulfillment order, a Shopify location, and its active status.

  • Which fulfillment orders are ready for pickup or out for local delivery, with the Shopify location attached to each
  • The active status of every pickup and delivery location, and which sends it's currently suppressing
  • Reschedule history for pickup and delivery orders, pulled from Shopify's fulfillment order events
  • Which conversation handed off to an agent because the customer needed a change the automated message can't resolve

What's checked before a pickup or delivery message sends

No message goes out for a location that isn't active, and the address always comes straight from Shopify.

  • A pickup or delivery message only sends when Shopify reports the location as active; an inactive location suppresses every message tied to it
  • Address and hours in any message come from the Shopify location record attached to that fulfillment order, never typed by hand
  • A reschedule reported by Shopify replaces the earlier pickup or delivery message rather than sending both
  • Handing a conversation to the team requires an explicit action; ownership never changes silently

What this does not do

Morasel does not track a driver's live location or promise a delivery ETA — a local-delivery message reports the fulfillment state Shopify holds, and any live tracking comes only from a separately verified provider. It also never sends a pickup or delivery message tied to a location Shopify reports as inactive.

Send pickup and delivery updates from the right location, every time

Connect your Shopify store so ready-for-pickup, rescheduled, and out-for-local-delivery messages carry the exact address and hours from your Shopify locations — and an inactive location never triggers a send.

Pickup and delivery questions

What triggers a ready-for-pickup message?

Shopify reporting that a fulfillment order's line items are prepared for pickup. The message carries that order's Shopify location — name, address, and hours — not a typed note.

What happens if a customer can't make their pickup time?

If Shopify reports a reschedule, the updated date sends in the same thread — the earlier pickup message doesn't stay active alongside it.

Does this track the delivery driver's live location?

No — Morasel reports the fulfillment state Shopify holds, such as prepared for local delivery. It doesn't track a driver in real time or promise an ETA unless a separately verified provider supplies that.

What happens if a pickup location is closed or inactive?

No pickup or delivery message sends for that location. Morasel checks the location's active status before every send.

Where does the pickup address come from?

The Shopify location record attached to that fulfillment order — the same address and hours the store configured in Shopify.

Is there a per-location charge for delivery and pickup messages?

No — add as many locations as your store has. Local pickup and delivery notifications run on your Morasel subscription — Core $49, Pro $99, Max $199, Enterprise on request. WhatsApp usage is billed separately from a prepaid wallet at Meta's official rates.
