WhatsApp payment reminders for pending and failed Shopify orders
Send a reminder only for an order sitting in a pending or failed payment state, on an approved WhatsApp template, with a payment link straight from Shopify. Reminders stop the moment the order is paid or cancelled, and never exceed the maximum you configure.

What breaks with manual payment follow-up
Chasing pending or failed payments by hand means reminders go out late, keep going after the customer already paid, or never mention how to actually finish paying.
- A staff member checks order status by hand before sending any reminder, so eligible orders wait hours
- A reminder still goes out after the order is already paid, because nobody caught the payment in time
- A cancelled order keeps getting a payment reminder nobody expects to collect
- Reminders repeat with no cap, because nothing tracks how many the customer already received
What the reminder record holds
One record per eligible order, tracking its payment state, the reminder count, and why sending did or didn't happen.
- Payment state
- Pending or failed, read from Shopify's order and transaction data; only these two states are eligible.
- Reminder count
- How many reminders this order has received, checked against the configurable maximum before every send.
- Approved template
- The Meta-approved WhatsApp template used for every payment reminder.
- Payment link
- The live Shopify payment link for this order — Morasel never collects card details in chat.
- Stop condition
- Payment received or order cancelled; either one halts all further reminders immediately.
- Send log
- Every attempted reminder, with its outcome: sent, stopped, or held by the reminder limit.
What happens between a pending order and a reminder
The same eligibility and stop checks run before every reminder.
Shopify reports the payment state
An order transaction is created or updated, and Shopify marks the payment pending or failed.
Eligibility is checked
Only pending or failed orders qualify; a paid or already-cancelled order is skipped.
The reminder count is checked
An order that already reached its configured maximum gets no further reminder.
The approved reminder sends
The Meta-approved template goes out with the live payment link from Shopify.
Payment and cancellation are watched
The moment the order is paid or cancelled, its remaining reminders stop.
The outcome is logged
Sent, stopped, or held by the limit — every attempt is recorded.
What the customer sees
One reminder, one payment link, on an approved template.
What the team sees
Every pending order, its reminder count, and why sending stopped, in one place.
- A list of pending and failed-payment orders with their current reminder count
- The maximum reminders per order, configurable per workspace
- A stop log showing which orders stopped because of payment or cancellation
- Only a Meta-approved template can be mapped to payment reminders
What this does not do
Morasel never collects card details or processes the payment inside WhatsApp — every reminder links to Shopify's own payment page, and the message stops the moment Shopify reports payment or cancellation.
Turn on WhatsApp payment reminders
Set your maximum reminders, map the approved template, and let Morasel stop automatically on payment or cancellation.
Payment reminder questions
Does every pending order get a reminder?
Only orders in a pending or failed payment state; a paid or cancelled order is never eligible.
What stops the reminders?
Payment or cancellation. Either one halts all further reminders for that order immediately.
How many reminders can a customer receive?
As many as your configured maximum allows — after that, no more reminders send for that order.
Does the reminder collect payment in WhatsApp?
No. The message links to the live Shopify payment page; Morasel never asks for or stores card details in chat.
Are payment reminders charged per reminder sent?
Only the WhatsApp message itself has a cost; the reminder logic does not. Payment reminders run on your Morasel subscription — Core $49, Pro $99, Max $199, Enterprise on request. WhatsApp usage is billed separately from a prepaid wallet at Meta's official rates.
